For the FY2024 J-PEAKS Collaborative Research Platform program, a call for applications was issued to researchers within the university starting in October 2024.
This is a project established under the university’s Program for Forming Japan’s Peak Research Universities (J-PEAKS), a national initiative launched to foster leading and distinctive research universities. Since its selection in 2023, Hokkaido University has focused on identifying interdisciplinary, applied, and industry–academia collaborative research initiatives that highlight the university’s distinctive strengths. These projects are supported through a comprehensive and agile funding scheme designed to facilitate the establishment of new research centers.
The application period closed on December 11, 2024, and a total of 60 applications were received: 24 for the Acceleration Stage and 36 for the Incubation Stage.
After a rigorous review by the selection committee consisting of experts from within and outside the university, we are pleased to announce the selected projects.
