October 30: International Workshop “Exploring the Future of Cattle Production” to be held

October 16, 2026

On October 30, Hokkaido University’s COI-NEXT “Next-Generation Wagyu Nexus” hosts an international workshop titled “Exploring the Future of Cattle Production.”

The research hub “Next-Generation Wagyu Nexus” advanced to the full-scale phase of the COI-NEXT program in April and has begun developing a circular livestock production model and establishing the foundational technologies needed to support it in collaboration with local communities. The workshop will bring together researchers from Baylor College of Medicine (USA), the Federal University of Viçosa (Brazil), the University of Melbourne (Australia), and Kyoto University (Japan) to discuss epigenetics in beef cattle and sustainable meat production.

The workshop aims to share future directions for scientific research and further advance the development of a new beef production system through the application of epigenetics and other cutting-edge approaches.
